The Four Divya Prabandham Collections
The opening trio of the Divya Prabandham — composed by Poigai Azhwar, Bhoothathazhwar, and Peyazhwar. Each composed 100 pasurams in the Andhadhi meter, forming a seamless garland of praise.
Thirumangai Azhwar composed the largest body of work in the Divya Prabandham — 1,361 pasurams across six works. His vivid imagery, biographical depth, and devotional intensity make these among the most celebrated Tamil devotional poetry.
The crown jewel of the Nalayira Divya Prabandham — 1,102 pasurams by Nammazhwar structured as a dialogue of the soul with the Supreme. Called the Dravida Veda (Tamil Veda), it is inseparable from the Oran Vazhi lineage to which Embar himself belonged.
Andal's thirty pasurams of Thiruppavai — chanted every morning of the Margazhi month — and her deeply personal Nachiyar Thirumozhi (143 pasurams) stand as timeless models of Prapatti (self-surrender) to Sriman Narayana.
